Depois de liberar a mixtape "Dark Lane Demo Tapes" em maio, a nova música foi lançada esse mês e é o primeiro single do próximo álbum do rapper canadense que deve se chamar "Certified Lover Boy" como o mesmo divulgou em suas redes. Afirmando a colaboração, já foram vazadas imagens de um possível merch do álbum com itens produzidos pela própria Nike.
Drake e a gigante do swoosh já tem uma relação há algum tempo porém sempre sob um ar misterioso. O rapper teve sim alguns modelos colaborativos lançados através de sua marca e gravadora OVO (Jordan 4 "Splatter" & "Raptors", Jordan 8 "OVO", Jordan 12 "White & Metallic Gold"...) mas todos com a Jordan Brand e não com a Nike. Em 2018 houveram rumores de que o rapper encerraria seu contrato com a Jordan para ir trabalhar com a Adidas, o que acabou não acontecendo e parece estar cada vez mais longe de acontecer.
Agora Drizzy foi convidado (por uma bela quantia $) pela Nike para gravar toda a campanha de seu novo single no QG da marca localizado no estado de Oregon, norte dos EUA.
No vídeo ostensivo, o cantor aparece nas instalações do campus com diversos artigos Nike, além de contracenar com outros atletas agenciados pela empresa, como Odell Beckham Jr. e Kevin Durant. A cada frame é possível notar o swoosh presente. Drake também aparece dirigindo um protótipo elétrico da Mercedes ainda não lançado e se divertindo com jet skis.
Agora o que isso significa? Bom ainda pode ser cedo para confirmar uma colaboração mas é seguro afirmar que o artista e a marca estão em ótimos termos e preparam novidades.
Um pouco mais cedo esse ano, surgiram rumores de que um modelo de Air Force 1 seria o escolhido para a collab. Carregando a tradicional coruja da OVO no calcanhar, esse pode ser o modelo que devemos ver no começo de 2021.
